Today is pretty light on pictures because we were mostly traveling, but we've made it to Madrid and are getting excited for WYD!!
We started off with a visit to the Catacombs of St. Callisto-an early Christian burial site where many popes, saints, and martyrs were buried. We celebrated Mass in one of the underground chapels, where the Christians would run to hide from the Roman persecutions.

We also stopped at the church of Quo Vadis along the Appian Way (the ancient Roman road, for those of you who aren't Classics nerds like yours truly :D), where Peter was stopped by Jesus. Jesus asked Peter, "Quo vadis?" which in Latin means "Where are you going?" and instructed Peter to return to Rome to be crucified for the faith. These pictures show where Jesus' footsteps would've been.
And then there's some flowers, because I really like flowers, and took no other pictures. I apologize-traveling was CRAZY! Everyone was headed toward Madrid to get ready for the week-we met a group from Minnesota in line at the airport.
We've checked into the hotel, had some dinner, and are getting an early night's sleep for a great day in Toledo tomorrow.
