Ciao from Roma!

Greetings friends and family! We've made it to Rome!

We spent the morning and afternoon in Assisi, appreciating the beautiful scenery and the basilicas of St. Francis and St. Claire.

Fr, Jorge celebrated Mass at the tomb of St. Francis to start the morning, followed by a tour of the basilica with our tour guide, Priscilla. We then traveled on foot through the town of Assisi to the Basilica of St. Claire, where the feast day of St. Claire was being celebrated with Mass.

After a quick stop at the tomb of St. Claire and the incorruptible relics, we headed out to the town to shop and grab some lunch at a restaurant. After lunch we went for gelatto-the most popular flavors were chocolate and Straciatella :D

After lunch we traveled by bus to the place of St. Francis' death and the rose garden he threw himself into when tempted by the devil. We then got back on the bus to head to Rome, where we checked into our hotel, had some dinner, and participated in praise and fellowship with the rest of the pilgrims in our group!

It's getting on midnight, though, so we're heading to bed now to get ready for a full day of sights tomorrow!
